Around Pushkin places…
The exile years of the Great Russian poet A. Pushkin to Bessarabia are 1820-1823.
The excerpt from the poet’s poem “To Ovid” is inscribed on the monument to Pushkin in the central park of Chisinau city. Exactly from here we advise you to start the journey to the places where the poet lived and has visited. These sites worth being visited not only because the great Pushkin made them famous, but also because by themselves the sites are unique and worthy of attention.

- Pushkin’ hill in Chisinau.
Small houses dating from the least 100 years ago are still there. It is a beautiful place with its special spirit and meandering streets. Here – Pushkin House-Museum is situated. It is a unique house. There are only two such extant houses where the poet lived. One is in Chisinau and another – in St. Petersburg.

- Dolna village located about 55 km from Chisinau.
This picturesque place was especially loved and often visited by the Great Russian poet. Here he got acquainted with the culture and traditions of the Moldovan people, and became friends with the family Rally Arbore, where he has been a guest. History says that the poet met the Gipsy Zemfira here. She became the prototype of Zemfira from “The Gypsies” poem. The museum was opened in the manor. There is a monument to Pushkin at the entry into the museum. Zemfira’s spring and Zemfira’s meadow are not far from the estate.

These are the most beautiful Moldovan woodland “Codri”. Village houses are just buried in the “green richness”. Even if here were no museum, these places treated so highly by nature would still be worth visiting.
