Chisinau - the capital of the Republic of Moldova with a population of 750,000 people. Due to its location on seven hills it is also known as «Small Rome». Chisinau - the ancient city, the first its documentary evidence refers to the July 17, 1436. Originally a small trading town, to the beginning of the XIX century becomes the administrative center of Bessarabia.

The city is developing rapidly; the buildings are being constructed in various architectural styles. With the immortal works of architecture of great architects such as A. Bernardazzi and A. Shchusev the city of Chisinau became really beautiful.
Great personalities lived and created here that have made an enormous contribution to the development of national culture and among them the Great Russian poet A. Pushkin whose exile to Bessarabia was really a fruitful period of the poet’s creation work.

Being immersed in the parks greenery, city center is preserved in the XIX century style and it is a true cultural and historical heritage of the country. The main points of the material and spiritual life of all generations are reflected in the names of streets, squares, boulevards built according to the architectural traditions of Europe.

The uniqueness of our capital is in such monuments of history, culture and art as “The Nativity” Cathedral, Arch of Triumph, City Hall, Organ Hall, the Church of St. Panteleimon, the monument of Steven the Great, the Museum of Ethnography, History Museum, House-Museum of A. Pushkin and others.
